When you engage with new cultures and look into the eyes of strangers to ask them about their land, you begin to build a network of connection so that all of us, across all countries and all walks of life can begin to become friendly neighbours on this beautiful planet we call our home.
How does it work?
Since this is not your usual tourist travel opportunity, you may want to know more about the actual process which we offer at Journey Around the Sun. A high level summary of the steps, and how we engage with you to ensure a memorable journey, is outlined below. Step 1
THE CATALYST.
The process of transformational travel requires that there is some inner urging, or external circumstance which has led to you feeling the need for something more, to renew and transform in order to heal or grow.
From our very first contact, we will begin to build up information as to where you are, what is your initiator, or catalyst for transformational travel and how do you wish to access the portal of travel to increase your self-awareness, enhance self-development, and receive healing, supporting your dreams and vision of your life journey.​​​​​
Step 2
YOUR COMMITMENT.
On booking your Journey with us you will receive a concise pre-trip information pack via email and if necesary, we will set up an online meeting prior to your trip to answer any relevant questions you may have about your travel experience. We assist you in preparing and planning for your trip as we want for you to feel safe and supported through each step of the travel planning.

As you step into the Journey by confirming your travel with us, you become part of our circle. You will be held throughout the process and we will continue to connect long after the completion of your “Journey around the Sun” with us. You will also be introduced to your travel companions if you are not travelling with a designated group of friends or family.​​
Step 3
JOINING THE TRIBE.
At this stage of the process, you have booked yourself in to travel with us and we have all met one another, you become a member of our TRIBE. We encourage you to be as authentic as possible in all of our engagements together, in order to benefit from the investment.

Each member of our team is committed to providing a professional and caring environment and support structure.​ The Journeyman Experience (our sister travel company) will assist with your final flight and accommodation bookings. ​​​
Step 4
ARRIVAL & OPENING CIRCLE.
From the moment your plane lands in Cape Town, we will be walking with you each step of the way. You will be collected from the aiport and taken to your accommodation at the beautiful Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town. Early evening, once you are all settled we will begin with a group meeting and opening circle in order to meet one another and to brief you of the arrangements and events.
The opening circle will enable us to formally introduce ourselves, and for the group to introduce themselves to each of us. We will hold a meditation and intention setting and you will receive your Journey Around the Sun journal and workbook as well as other items that will be used during our time together.

The following day is your first day in Cape Town you will be offered the opportunity to partake in a scenic peninsula tour.

Step 5
CEDERBERG MAGIC.
At this stage of the process you have become more accustomed to each other and to Cape Town and so on Day 3 we travel to the Cederberg Mountains for the more intense transformational experience, diving into our programme. Here, we will be staying at Kromrivier Cederberg Park.
​
The time spent together in the magical Cederberg will encourage self-reflection and will allow for space for self-contemplation in the most sacred ancient landscape. Whilst you will have time to be on your own in silent contemplation, you will also be held through this journey by the various team members who will be supporting your personal transformation.

During our time together you can expect to explore gentle hikes in the mountains, spend alone time in Nature, gather for meditations and enjoy personal and group reflective spaces and sharing. ​​
Step 6
DEPARTURE & CLOSING CIRCLE.
The departure home will be preceded by the return to Cape Town. On your final day here you will be offered the opportunity to engage with one of the charity organisations with whom we work. An important aspect of your journey with us is to engage with less privileged communities to both open your heart to those in need and experience personal contact with our culture and communities.
On completion of this engagment you will return to the Vineyard hotel where we will hold a closing ceremony together and you will have the opportunity to meet with either members of our team individually to consolidate any experiences that came up for you, or any insights for which you wish to receive further insights and guidance.

On the day of your departure you will be shuttled to the airport to ensure a safe and supported journey home.​​
Finally
THE TREASURE YOU TAKE HOME.
You are now back home and we hope that you will take with you the treasure; newly found insights, pearls of wisdom and healing experienced through personal development and growth.
We wish for you to return home with a renewed sense of vigor and enthusiasm for your life and for the people you are surrounded by. We want you to go home with a happy heart and hope that the journey with us provides you with lasting positive changes to continually enhance your life.

We encourage the continuation of self-work and the use of the practices which you will have been exposed to during your time with us. The manual and journal you take home will hold those gems that dropped in whilst you were Journeying with us.​​

To create a cohesive group of travellers, we request that you complete our Application form so that we can align the group in accordance with the principles of transformational travel. Once we have received your application form, we will be in touch to discuss the way forward. We cannot wait to meet you and support you on your transformational travel journey.
